It's Been A While!

Hello hello!

I have been very bad over the last few months and have not contributed much to the old blog! I've really missed it! It's been a crazy second year at university, what with overlapping film and pr projects, an internship at Dazed and Confused magazine, taking on the role as Fashion Production Assistant at GEIST magazine and preparing my dissertation for my final year. It has all been very fun (most of the time) and I can't believe it's now the summer holidays. So long UCA for 4 whole months! I'm just waiting for the sun to come out now...

Here's a few lazy Instagram snaps of what I have been up to recently...

1- Jazzy new kimono, 2- Henna fun, 3- Moonrise Kingdom, 4- New shoes!
5- Beautiful blossom, 6- Celebrations, 7- Hangover tea, 8- Reunited,
9- Broadway Market, 10- Maisie Willis, 11- Remember these!?, 12- CUTE.

Holidaying in Sharm, Egypt

This summer I visited Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt for a very hot holiday filled with swimming, visiting the beach, drinking colourful cocktails and inhaling the sweet smell of shisha pipes. The Old Town and Pataya Beach, Nabq Bay were my favourite places to visit whilst there. I would definitely go back again in the future! A great place for families or young couples.

New/Old Things That I Bought...

Leopard print shirt - £3.75, Havens Hospice (Rayleigh)

Dungaree Shorts - £10, New Look (Sale)

Cardigan- £4, Havens Hospice (Rayleigh)

Chain Necklace- 50p Charity Shop (Wickford)

Note - The leopard print shirt is kinda disgusting if left as it is, however, I simply tied it up at the end and rolled up the sleeves, et voila! The Chanel-esque cardi was in such great condition that I had to nab it, £4 for such a great quality material. The label's marked with St. Michael's, which shows just how old this M&S goodie is, vintage love!

Top left, All Topshop Sale. The toe ring and ear cuff were not marked, but once at the till the price was reduced by at least 70%, on top of the 10% student discount, this made my day. I have been wanting to decorate my upper finger for SO long now, so to have this beaut for around £1 is great!

Bracelets - £1.50, New Look (Sale)

Purse - £3, Green Bangle - £1, Gold Clasp Bracelet - £1.75, All British Heart Foundation (Rayleigh)

I like to think that i'm a bit of a bargain hunter, maybe I should apply for one of those daytime TV shows with that orange Dickinson guy...
Anyway, head down to your local shopping centre NOW, as the sales have officially begun, there's lots of bikinis and summer wear are filling those shelves. Obviously this is no good for dreary Britain, but if you're jetting off like myself last minute, then I highly recommend a snoop around for some bargains!

Betty Magazine Summer Launch!

It's that time of year again, and Betty magazine are back with a bigger team and a beautiful new issue to brighten up those often dreary summer months! Last week I assisted at the summer issue launch party in the lomography store, Spitalfields. What a great venue to host such a colourful, retro-themed, fun party, including a set from the wonderfully sounding Peter and Kerry and some gorgeous Malibu cocktails. Ironically, within seconds of leaving the nostalgic beach style party, my favourite umbrella was broken from the stormy wind. Ah Britain! At least I had the new summery issue to bring my spirits back up again.

Here are a few shots from the launch night:

My cutesy nails for the occasion!

This issue of Betty is filled some amazing photo shoots, I particularly love the 'History of Skirts' shoot, set around the gorgeous Columbia Road, London. This is probably a very biased opinion however, as I had the great opportunity of being a styling assistant for this shoot. Being on set with the Betty crew was such a great experience, I would definitely be honoured to go back any day!

Here are a few of my favourite spreads from the magazine:

Photographer - Ellie Smith
Stylist - Charlotte Melling
Hair and Make up - Sofi Keenan
Model - Anastasia at Bookings
Styling Assistants - Layla Hart and Si Pui Tuong

Click here to buy the latest issue of Betty magazine, a purchase not to regret!

Update

I have been super busy with my new university project Nail Hart lately, so I have been neglecting this blog quite a bit (sad face). It's been so fun creating a new, fresh blog idea, separate to this personal blog. I will be reblogging my nail art designs on here all in due coure, but in the mean time, head over to Nail Hart and take a peak!

Here's a quick update on what's been going on in my life lately, apart from stress!

The gorgeous House of Harlow 1960 shoes which were given to me as a form of payment
for working over London Fashion Weekend. I'm not complaining!

Ring - Topshop, bracelet - Urban Outfitters, Earrings - Ebay (99p Bargain!)

Aztec Snapback - Urban Outfitters (£5 reduced from £20!)

New Brogue/creeper/espadrilles - Ebay (£14.99) Never worn a three in one shoe before, but I love it!

I KNEW these would be big, and I want it SO bad! As always, I am super obsessed with anything which appears as though it could be from the 80's, and this pretty little thing does the trick for me. The colour explosion, mixed with the floral print, mixed with the current spots luxe trend means this jacket is simply amazing, and I must have it. Oh and its only £14.99 from Primark which means it's ok to indulge, right?

I also spotted this top in H&M yesterday. I love the colour, the cut, the way it flows freely, and the fact that it is actually knitted wool. It would be perfect during the summer with some denim high waistys, or worn over a plain maxi dress!

I have a brand new iPhone, at last, a phone with a camera! So the following images are a result of me over excitedly snapping away and uploading to Instagram!

New fairy lights at halls

I left my nan's house with a bag full of her old 80's clothes the other day, she was shocked to hear that I LOVED them!

Best meal of the week.

Love going home to see my men!

I did these nails for the AW12 House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate Press Day,
a post on this is sure to follow!
