Lana Del Rey for H&M Autumn Collection - Get The Look!

The gorgeous Miss Del Rey will front the Autumn ad campaigns for the Swedish high street retailer H&M. This beautiful image taken by the photography duo Inez and Vindoodh is a taste of what will be hitting the stores very soon. I will be expecting more 60's style hair and make-up, along with a variety of vintage pastel shades and soft textures. Donald Schneider, H&M's Creative Director, told WWD: 'The mood is very LA noir. It’s inspired by our fall collection.'

Below I've shown how to get Lana's sultry sixties look:

Haute Couture Fall 2012 Favourites

It's that time of year again, where we all wish we could get off to Paris and view the spectacles which are the Couture fashion shows. The fall shows included some amazing garments, and as I was selecting my personal favourites, I noticed I was either selecting nude shades or very dark shades with a definitive, glistening edge, and no in between. So here are my ten favourite looks, chosen for their originality, true beauty and overall astounding elegance.

Details:

I love this beauty idea from Chanel, where the nails were simply painted with one colour (2007 Chanel nail paint in silver), and then painted over with another (2012 Chanel nail paint in pink)in an oval shape, carefully not touching the edges. A huge inspiration for a new Nail Hart tutorial! The Maison Martin Margiela necklace, if you can call it that, is simply breath taking. Who needs clothes when you can adorn your body with such beauty!

Update

I have been super busy with my new university project Nail Hart lately, so I have been neglecting this blog quite a bit (sad face). It's been so fun creating a new, fresh blog idea, separate to this personal blog. I will be reblogging my nail art designs on here all in due coure, but in the mean time, head over to Nail Hart and take a peak!

Here's a quick update on what's been going on in my life lately, apart from stress!

The gorgeous House of Harlow 1960 shoes which were given to me as a form of payment
for working over London Fashion Weekend. I'm not complaining!

Ring - Topshop, bracelet - Urban Outfitters, Earrings - Ebay (99p Bargain!)

Aztec Snapback - Urban Outfitters (£5 reduced from £20!)

New Brogue/creeper/espadrilles - Ebay (£14.99) Never worn a three in one shoe before, but I love it!

I KNEW these would be big, and I want it SO bad! As always, I am super obsessed with anything which appears as though it could be from the 80's, and this pretty little thing does the trick for me. The colour explosion, mixed with the floral print, mixed with the current spots luxe trend means this jacket is simply amazing, and I must have it. Oh and its only £14.99 from Primark which means it's ok to indulge, right?

I also spotted this top in H&M yesterday. I love the colour, the cut, the way it flows freely, and the fact that it is actually knitted wool. It would be perfect during the summer with some denim high waistys, or worn over a plain maxi dress!

I have a brand new iPhone, at last, a phone with a camera! So the following images are a result of me over excitedly snapping away and uploading to Instagram!

New fairy lights at halls

I left my nan's house with a bag full of her old 80's clothes the other day, she was shocked to hear that I LOVED them!

Best meal of the week.

Love going home to see my men!

I did these nails for the AW12 House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate Press Day,
a post on this is sure to follow!

Maarten van der Horst Hits Topshop

This beautiful, feminine, yet playful collection was brought to my attention recently. Maarten van der horst showed his A/W12 collection at LFW in February through Lulu Kennedy's Fashion East, joining the successful ranks of the likes of Johnathan Saunders and Henry Holland. He light-heartedly named the collection the “boardroom, but not boring”, and the “I love you, but fuck you collection”. Adding to his recent success, Horst was also named as one of Selfridges’ Bright Young Things in January along with fellow womenswear designers Sorcha O’Raghallaigh, Adam Andrascik, Alice Lee and MASC.

At the end of next week, Horst will be collaborating with Topshop to produce some tropical, hawaiian  printed designs, extremely reminiscent of his S/S12 show. I can't wait until this hits the stores, to see the eccentric, exotic and beautifully tailored designs come to life! Definitely one to watch!

Balmain A/W12

I freakin' love this collection! Olivier Rousteing has created an amazing array of colours and textures for his second season at Balmain; the Autumn Winter collection encapsulates the Balmain brand well. However, a new lease of life has been brought in with the use of armour style biker jackets embellished with jewels, pearls, and beautiful embroidery (not too dissimilar from the tapestry shoes i'm currently longing for!)

I would go as far as saying that I think this is my favourite collection this season. How I wish I was on the frow in Paris to see these amazing garments in real life. Keep dreaming girl.
